Abstract
Description
Students will review fundamentals of descriptive statistics, estimation, and hypothesis testing. More advanced influential methods will be introduced, including, but not limited to, regression and correlation and analysis of variance. At the conclusion of the course, students will be able to analyze real data sets and provide quantitative evidence to support scientific conclusions. The emphasis is on “doing” statistics utilizing sound statistical theory and relying on validated statistical software (SAS) to produce descriptive statistics and inferential analyses, and interpret the results. The specific topics covered are outlined in the Course Schedule on the last page of this syllabus.
