Abstract
When instructors discuss AI with students, these conversations often center AI’s potential to influence learning, or concerns related to student cheating. However, important privacy and surveillance issues surrounding these tools, which can significantly impact students and researchers, are rarely discussed. Here, we share tips for leading these conversations and advice for students, researchers, and instructors seeking to protect their privacy in the AI era.
