Search Methods for Identification of Studies: To identify studies to include or consider for this scoping review, the review team worked with a research librarian (OGC) to develop detailed search strategies for each database. The searches were conducted following the PRISMA-S extension for search reporting. The research librarian (OGC) developed the search for PubMed (NLM) and translated the search for every database searched. The PubMed (NLM) search strategy was reviewed by the research team to check for accuracy and term relevancy, the librarian reviewed all the completed search strategies for errors. The databases included in this search are PubMed (NLM), Embase (Elsevier), CINAHL (Ebsco), Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics), ProQuest Public Health Database, ProQuest Environmental Science Collection using a combination of keywords and subject headings. The search was limited to human studies of pediatric populations, and excluded review articles. All final searches were performed on May 4, 2022 by the librarian (OGC) and were fully reported. A summary of the search results from databases: PubMed (NLM) from inception to 5/4/2022 (1093 Results) Embase (Elseveier) from inception to 5/4/2022 (2121 Results) CINAHL (Ebsco) from inception to 5/4/2022 (382 Results) Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics) from inception to 5/4/2022 (1512 Results) ProQuest Public Health Database from inception to 5/4/2022 (403 Results) ProQuest Environmental Science Collection from inception to 5/4/2022 (1600 Results) The search resulted in 7,111 studies and 2,406 duplicate studies were found and omitted by the librarian (OGC) using the EndNote 20 duplicate identification strategy. This resulted in 4,705 records to screen from databases. Studies were screened by title and abstract by two blinded and independent reviewers. If a tiebreaker was needed, a third reviewer was called in. This process was repeated for full-text article screening and article selection.Citation
