Abstract
Description
PPL Policy Briefs provide concise summaries of policy-relevant academic research for policy makers and the public. This brief examines the National and international assessment results of American students, and urges a rexamination of the American education system to advance reform that is consistent with the science of learning and the promotion of educational equity. It presents the 6 Cs, a suite of evidence-based skills that all students need to achieve in the 21st century. The 6 Cs are intentionally flexible, enabling educators to leverage their students' cultural backgrounds and experiences as instructional resources.
