Abstract
Description
To identify studies to include or consider for this rapid review, the review team worked with a medical librarian to develop detailed search strategies for each database. The search was developed for PubMed (NLM) and was translated to Embase (Elsevier), ERIC (EbscoHost), CINAHL (EbscoHost) and PsycInfo (EbscoHost) using a combination of keywords and subject headings. A grey literature search included locating dissertations and theses from Dissertations & Theses Global (Proquest). The search presented in this rapid review was limited to the English language as one of the shortcuts taken with a date restriction of 2005 to current literature focusing on human studies. The search excluded child studies, with ages approximately under thirteen. The final search was completed on October 16, 2020. The full search details are provided in Appendix(___).
PubMed (NLM) from 2005 to 11/16/2020 (1,514 Results)
Embase (Elsevier) from 2005 to 1116/2020 (3,278 Results)
CINAHL (EbscoHost) from 2005 to 11/16/2020 (1,484 Results)
ERIC (EbscoHost) from 2005 to 11/16/2020 (307 Results)
PsycInfo (EbscoHost) from 2005 to 11/16/2020 (431 Results)
Dissertations & Theses Global (Proquest) from 2005 to 11/16/2020 (370 Results)
The search resulted in 7,384 studies (370 from grey literature sources). 998 duplicate studies were found and omitted using Endnote X.7 for the deduplication of records and 6,396 references were eligible to screen. Studies were screened by title and abstract by two blinded and independent reviewers using Covidence. If a tiebreaker was needed, a third reviewer was called in. This process was repeated for full text article screening and article selection.
