Abstract
Nurse huddling or daily rounding can be defined as five to 10 minute periods of time at the beginning of each shift to discuss current unit characteristics and goals. The term “huddling” is an old concept to nurses across the board, however implementing daily huddles on acute care units is often met with staff resistance. This review of current literature is assessing the effects of daily rounding on units to determine if this intervention is effective in improving staff awareness and accountability of quality measures including patient satisfaction, falls, infection rates, and overall unit culture.
